Nicolas is a geologist with more than 30 years of proven achievements in the mining industry across Chile, Peru, Ecuador, and Argentina. His expertise lies in the fields of Explorations, Business Development, and Corporate Affairs.
Throughout his career, Nicolas has demonstrated strong leadership skills, designing and implementing successful exploration plans for prominent companies such as Xstrata Copper in Chile, AMSA, and NextMinerals in Chile’s medium-scale mining sector. Collaborating effectively with teams, he achieved substantial increases of over 2 billion metric tons of copper mineral resources.
His exploration projects encompassed various relevant deposit types, including Copper Porphyries, IOCG (Iron-Copper-Gold), Epithermal Gold, and Strata-Bound, with a keen focus on proficient management of environmental and community risks.
Nicolas has also excelled in forging partnerships with both Junior and Major exploration companies, effectively leading the processes of partnership.
Being actively engaged in shaping mining regulations, Nicolas has been a respected figure in the industry, playing a collaborative role in the definition of the mining royalty law in 2010.
Since January 2018, Nicolas has been working independently as a consultant and advisor for mining-related companies and entrepreneurs, providing valuable insights into mining exploration projects and technological ventures.
