The result of the IP campaign showed high chargeability anomalies at depth, that could be linked to mineralization of copper sulfur, adding more prospectivity to the targets selected by Goldberg to discover a potential large scale IOCG deposit.

January 2014, Quantec Geosciences performed 5 IP (Induced Polarization) lines in the prospect Los Tacos located near the city of Ovalle, the lines were recommended by Goldberg and were positioned over the geochemical anomalies to observe the behavior of the resistivity and chargeability of the rocks as an indication of the presence of copper sulfurs.

A total of 5.63 kilometers were surveyed and stations were positioned every 75 meters, and since there was a good response and the data was consistent, the inversions were able to converge without difficulty, allowing to infer a depth of approximately 300 meters.

The results suggest that in general, the geological structure of the survey area appears to be fairly consistent, with a layer of lower resistivity material (<250 ohm-m) in the top 100m, followed by a small transition layer (~25-50m) of medium resistivity (250-400 ohm-m), and then higher resistivity at depth (>400 ohm-m).

The chargeability response follows the resistivity structure, with low response (<5 mV/V) in the top 100m, slightly higher response (5-10 mV/V) in the transition layer, and higher chargeability (>10mV/V) at depth.

The above allows adding more evidence in favor of the geological hypothesis sustained by Goldberg, which indicates that the Los Tacos prospect could host an important IOCG deposit.
